New York State Unemployment Rate Drops to New Low

New York State Unemployment Rate has dropped to 4.8%, the lowest it has been since 2007.

The private sector job count increased by 30,000+ in the month of October 2015, reaching a total count of 7,859,000. Between October 2014-October 2015, NYC added 95,000 jobs to the private sector and government positions. Suffolk & Nassau counties added 24,000 and Orange-Rockland-Westchester added 10,000.

The unemployment rate in the state of New York is below the national average, which is 5.5%.
