Long Island bank robbed

HEMPSTEAD – Nassau County police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred late Friday afternoon in Hempstead.

Two suspects entered the Bethpage Federal Credit Union at 170 Fulton Avenue about 4:40 p.m. and approached a teller. One of the subjects displayed a handgun and made a verbal demand while the other stood nearby. The subjects fled on foot with the money in an unknown direction.

Both suspects are black males.  One is described as 25-35 years of age, 6’1” tall, wearing camouflage baseball cap, black mask, sunglasses and light colored pants.  The other in his 20’s, 5’7” tall, wearing a dark baseball cap, mask, black long sleeved shirt and jeans.

There were 9 employees and 3 customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.
