Former cop indicted on attempted robbery charge

HUDSON – A former Troy city patrolman was indicted by a Columbia County grand jury on a charge of first-degree attempted robbery.

Officer Michael Johnson, 33, of Kinderhook was suspended without pay for 30 days as a result pending an internal affairs investigation.

State Police arrested Johnson on Tuesday and was committed to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $35,000 cash bail or $70,000 bond.

On June 9, his brother, Lucas Johnson, was arrested by State Police on a robbery charge in connection with the same case for attempting to rob Scotti’s Hair Salon in Kinderhook.
