COXSACKIE – The Brooklyn woman, who was arrested along with her boyfriend, for trying to smuggle drugs into the Coxsackie State Correctional Facility in Greene County is a principal of a New York City school.

Sadie Silver, 40, is the principal of PS 28 in Brooklyn, authorities said Monday.

She was arrested along with Michael Acosta, 34, also of Brooklyn last Friday on charges of felony promoting prison contraband, criminal possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child as they had a 10-year-old with them at the time of the crime.

Silver was sent to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. Acosta is being held in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.

The status of Silver’s employment could not be learned on Monday.
