Airports to offer free Wi-Fi in terminals

NEW YORK – Travelers using Port Authority airports will have access to free Wi-Fi service. The Port Authority Board on Wednesday approved the arrangement with a subsidiary of Boingo Wireless, Inc. to offer free Internet service for 30 minutes.

It is all part of the Port Authority’s efforts to enhance customer service, said agency Aviation Director Thomas Bosco.

“Both the Port Authority and our airline partners consider complimentary Wi-Fi to be a significant customer service upgrade and it demonstrates that we are listening to our customers and responding to their wants and needs,” Bosco told the board.

Travelers wanting more than the half hour of free service will have the availability of purchasing additional time.

JFK, Newark Liberty, LaGuardia and Stewart airports will be upgraded with the new service.
