Long Island bank robbed

AMITYVILLE - Suffolk County Police and Amityville Village Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

Two men wearing partial masks entered the Teacher’s Federal Credit Union, located at 355 Broadway, Amityville, at approximately 4:10 p.m.  One of the men approached a teller, announced a robbery and demanded cash.  He displayed a canister of mace while the second suspect remained by the bank entrance as the robbery took place.  Both men fled on foot with proceeds and were last seen heading north towards Dixon Avenue in Amityville.

The suspect who approached the teller is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, between 180 and 200 pounds and approximately 40-years-old.  He was wearing a blue sweater, white gloves, a dark baseball cap and wore a fabric mask over the lower portion of his face.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build.  He was wearing a white t-shirt, a baseball cap and was also wearing a fabric mask over the lower portion of his face.
