H. Carl McCall reappointed as chairman of SUNY Board of Trustees

ALBANY – The State University of New York announced that H. Carl McCall was reappointed as trustee and chairman of the SUNY Board of Trustees. Additionally, SUNY announced the appointment of Lawrence Waldman and reappointment of Trustee Eric Corngold.

“I want to thank the Governor and the Senate for the reappointments of Eric and myself, and for the appointment of the Board’s newest member, Larry Waldman. We welcome him to this distinguished group of New Yorkers,” said McCall.  “The State University of New York has made incredible strides in the last few years and in partnership with the vision of Chancellor Nancy Zimpher, I look forward to continuing to move our important initiatives forward as Chairman of the Board.”

“The reappointment of Chairman McCall through 2021 is excellent news for SUNY students, faculty, and staff as well as our 64 campus presidents and their administrations,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher. “Together with Trustees Corngold, Waldman, and the rest of the Board, the SUNY system is poised to continue its national leadership while ensuring access to quality, affordable higher education for all New Yorkers. Thank you to Trustee Hunt for his service on the Board, and to Governor Cuomo and the State Senate for these most recent appointments.”

The Governor’s appointments were confirmed by the New York State Senate Friday, June 20. Waldman will replace Stephen Hunt on the Board, in a term that expires June 30, 2020. Terms for McCall and Corngold expire June 30, 2021.

Waldman currently serves as an advisor to the accounting firm of EisnerAmper LLP, where he was previously the partner-in-charge of Commercial Audit Practice Development for Long Island. Prior to joining EisnerAmper, Mr. Waldman was the partner-in-charge of Commercial Audit Practice Development for Holtz Rubenstein Reminick, LLP from 2006 to 2011. Mr. Waldman was the Managing Partner of the Long Island office of KPMG LLP from 1994 through 2006, the accounting firm where he began his career in 1972.
