Third Locust Hill defendant convicted of murder

WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man faces 150 years to life in state prison when sentenced next month on murder charges in connection with the shooting deaths of two people and wounding of four others during an apartment robbery in Yonkers.

Three men forced their way into an apartment at 77 Locust Hill Avenue in Yonkers at 1 a.m. on July 6, 2010 with the intent of stealing a considerable amount of money located there.  They opened fire on the residents, including two small children.

Ronell Jones, of Yonkers, convicted of six counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

He absconded right after the incident and was eventually arrested in Chicago.

Both co-defendants pled guilty.

Brian Roach, also known as “London,” 25, also of Yonkers, was sentenced to 31 years to life in prison on murder, attempted murder and robbery charges.

Daniel Sanchez, 27, of Brooklyn, was sentenced to life without parole on his guilty plea to 11 counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, four counts of assault, five counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and one count each of robbery and burglary.
