Software programmer pleads guilty to killing his wife

WHITE PLAINS – A Sleepy Hollow man pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Thursday to manslaughter and strangulation, both felonies in connection with the death of his wife.

Christopher Howson, 53, of 127 New Broadway in Sleepy Hollow, a computer programmer, called 911 on January 5, 2013 to say that he had just strangled his wife, a part-time staff attorney for Bronx Legal Aid Society, and believed she was dead.

She was rushed to the hospital where she remained on a ventilator for four days until she died on January 9 after being taken off life support.

Howson, who has been in jail since his arrest, faces up to 25 years in state prison when sentenced in July.
