Defendant pleads guilty to attempted sex trafficking

ALBANY - A Providence, Rhode Island, man pleaded guilty to one count of attempted sex trafficking, a felony, in Albany County Court on Tuesday.

On August 22, 2012 in the Town of Colonie, John Hammond, 38, intentionally attempt to force a victim to engage in acts of prostitution to retire or repay a purported debt while the victim was under the influence of narcotics. 

Hammond faces 2 to 6 years in State Prison and is currently in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail to await sentencing.
