Police identify fatal stabbing victims in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – The two men stabbed to death in Poughkeepsie Saturday morning were publicly identified by city police on Monday.

Lamar Johnson, 35, of Beacon, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident at 133 North Clinton Street, police said.  Landocalrissan Butler, 33, of 133 North Clinton, later died at Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

The woman at the scene was stabbed in the arm and was treated and released at an area hospital.

Autopsies on both men were conducted Monday. Butler was found to have died from a stab wound to the heart inflicted by Johnson, police said. The woman’s stab wound was also inflicted by Johnson.  Although stabbed, the cause of death for Johnson is pending. Det. Lt. Matthew Clark said also under investigation is who actually stabbed him.

Police said there are no other suspects at large, although the incident remains under investigation.
