Upstate man charged with child rape

ROME – A Rome man is in jail, charged with felony rape of a child.  The arrest of Tyler Hart, 19, of Rome, follows a month long investigation by Rome Police Detective Rich Galluppi, currently assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, into the allegation that Hart was engaged in an ongoing sexual relationship with another person under the age of fifteen.

Hart was arrested on Friday evening, April 11, and is currently in the Oneida County Correctional Facility without bail.

The case will be referred to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office for Grand Jury consideration.
