Tribes Hill man arrested for sexual crimes against children

FONDA - The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Fonda announce the arrest of David Andrews, 61, of Tribes Hill, NY for rape in the first degree, criminal sexual act in the first degree, course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, predatory sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.  The charge of Endangering the welfare of a child is a misdemeanor. All other charges are felonies.  
The arrests stem from an ongoing investigation conducted by the State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.  The investigation revealed Andrews had made arrangements with an adult male via the internet and provided the man with a child less than thirteen years of age in order for the man to engage in various sexual acts with the child.  This occurred on two separate occasions. 
The investigation also revealed Andrews engaged in various sexual conduct with a child less than thirteen years of age on multiple occasions over the course of several months. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
Andrews was arraigned in the Town of Mohawk Court before the Honorable Judge Kathleen Buck.  He was committed to the Montgomery County Jail with in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.  His next appearance is scheduled for April 15, 2014 at 5:00PM.
