White Plains man sentenced to state prison in fatal shooting

WHITE PLAINS – A White Plains man was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Tuesday to 35 years in state prison for shooting and killing another man on August 11, 2012.

Jaerue Williams, 28, of 59 Old Mamaroneck Road shot Wilfredo Rivera, 21, once in the chest at close range while in Port Chester. He died at Greenwich Hospital.

Port Chester Police investigated and arrested Williams, who was already in custody after being arrested on August 18, 2012 on a parole violation stemming from two 2010 felony convictions.

Williams pled guilty to manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the fatal shooting and to felony burglary in connection with the parole violation.
