Former volunteer fireman sent to state prison for credit card fraud

HUDSON – A disgraced former volunteer fireman was removed from Columbia County Court in handcuffs on Tuesday after he was sentenced to two to five years in state prison.

Joseph Morrison, who was once the president of one of the City of Hudson’s fire companies, pled guilty last October after an investigation by Hudson City Police and the state Comptroller’s Office determined he used fire company credit cards to pay for items that included home entertainment equipment and pornography.  He racked up close to $50,000 in credit card charges over a several year period.
