Up to two feet of snow buries much of downstate New York

NEW YORK – Central Park is a winter wonderland with 13 inches of snow.  That’s a typical amount for much of downstate New York.  There are isolated reports a foot and a half in some areas to the north and west, and close to two feet in a few places.

Light snow was still reported falling at 5:00 in the Hudson Valley

Snow showers could dump another inch or two late Friday night into Saturday.  Still more snow showers are in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday.

The long range forecast still calls for a significant warm-up by the end of next week.
