Attempted murder arrests in Nassau County

HEMPSTEAD – Nassau County Police report two arrests for an alleged attempted murder that occurred on February 8, at 4:45 AM in Hempstead.

According to detectives, a 24 year old male victim was attending a party at 38 Linden Place when he had a verbal altercation with two men; defendants Oneil Meade, 28, and Clive Meade, 41, both of 38 Linden Place.  The argument escalated and the three men walked outside.  Oneil Meade allegedly displayed a silver handgun and shot the victim in the neck.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.  Hempstead Police, Bureau of Special Operations, Emergency Services Unit and the Third Precinct responded to the scene.  After an investigation the defendants were placed under arrested inside the above location.  A Walther PPKS 9mm was recovered at the scene. 

Oneil Meade is charged with attempted murder 2nd degree, assault 1st degree and criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree.  Clive Meade is charged with tampering with physical evidence.
