State Police issue 110 tickets on I-84 in East Fishkill during 3-hour enforcement operation

EAST FISHKILL - On January 12, a team of New York State Troopers engaged in a three-hour speed enforcement operation on Interstate 84 in the Town of East Fishkill, Dutchess County.  During the operation, 79 motorists were ticketed for speeding in excess of 65 miles per hour.  In addition, 31 tickets were issued for other traffic infractions such as failure to wear a seat belt, driver use of a handheld cell-phone or other electronic device while driving, and violation of the state's "move-over" law which requires motorists to exercise due care to avoid colliding with an authorized emergency or hazard vehicle which is parked, stopped or standing on the shoulder of a road or highway with its emergency lights activated.

In an effort to reduce speed-related crashes, improve highway safety and protect those working alongside our roads, New York State Police in Troop K regularly conduct these types of traffic enforcement operations.
