Family therapist pleads guilty to sexually abusing two patients

WHITE PLAINS – A licensed clinical social worker pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Thursday in connection with two separate incidents of inappropriately touching two patients while he counseled them.              

Mark Bernardini, 57, of 955 Peach Lake Road pled guilty to felony criminal sexual act and misdemeanor forcible touching.

On May 16, 2013, he inappropriately touched a 19-year-old woman he was counseling at his home office in North Salem.  The woman told her parents who contacted the State Police.

On July 2, 2013, at his office at 27 Milburn Street in Bronxville, he engaged in sexual contact with a 12-year-old boy he was counseling.  The victim told his family after the session and they immediately contacts Bronxville Police, who arrested him outside his office later that day.

When sentenced next month, Bernardini faces up to 25 years in state prison and 15 years of parole.
