Ice, snow greet travelers on Christmas Eve

STATEWIDE – Travelers heading out for Christmas Eve found a variety of hazardous conditions, depending on where they were.  Upstate areas were plagued with ice, which also caused several power outages.  Snow squalls dumped up to three inches in some downstate areas later in the day.

Dozens of accidents were reported.

Nice, but very cold, conditions are expected for today with a warm-up coming for the weekend, then very cold conditions for the final week of 2013.
