State Trooper in critical condition following accident on I-90

AMSTERDAM - A state trooper is listed in critical condition at Albany Medical Center after his patrol vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer on I-90 in the City of Amsterdam, Montgomery County.  The name of the trooper had not been released, as of earlier this morning.

The driver of the tractor trailer, Gary Blakley, 65, of Ridgeway, Ontario was traveling east on I-90 at the time of the accident and was not injured. 

A third vehicle, operated by Eric Heller, 57, of Stoney Creek, NY was also involved. Heller was transported to Albany Medical Center for his injuries and his condition is not known. 

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
