Menorah damaged on Long Island

RONKONKOMA - Suffolk County Police Hate Crimes Unit detectives are investigating an incident in which a menorah was discovered damaged in Ronkonkoma on Monday.

A member from the Hate Crimes Unit discovered damage to the menorah at Raynor County Park located at Ronkonkoma Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m.   Two of the arms supporting the lights were removed and bulbs were broken off the top of the menorah which is displayed by the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce.

The investigation is ongoing.   Hate Crimes Unit detectives ask anyone with information regarding the damage to the menorah to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.   All calls will remain confidential.
