Freight service impacted by Hudson Line derailment

NEW YORK – The fatal derailment of the Metro-North Hudson Line train in the Bronx Sunday morning will affect certain freight shipments on that line, CSX Railroad officials said Monday.

Metro-North informed CSX it will be at least through Wednesday before freight shipments can be accepted over that line.

CSX is reviewing contingencies and discussing alternate plans with customers. As a result of the incident, freight shipments on the Hudson Line could be delayed 24 to 48 hours.

Shipments on the west of Hudson line are not affected.

Customers with questions about shipments can contact customer service at www.shipcsx.com or 1-877-744-7279 options 5, 6.
