State prison inmate charged with punching CO in the face, knocking out tooth

NAPANOCH – An inmate at the Ulster Correctional Facility in Napanoch is charged with felony assault for allegedly punching a corrections officer in the face dislodging a front tooth.

State Police at Ellenville investigated a fight between inmate Manuel Cuevas, 26, and another prisoner. When corrections officers intervene to break up the fight, Cuevas became combative to the officers and struck one of them in the face.

Cuevas was arrested at the prison on the new charge.
