Man arrested for hosting over 500 at a party in abandoned warehouse

HUNTINGTON STATION - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for hosting a party with more than 500 attendees in an abandoned warehouse in Huntington Station Saturday night.

Second Precinct police officers responded to a 911 call regarding a party in a warehouse behind 1026 New York Ave., at 10:30 p.m. on October 25. When officers arrived, they found approximately 560 people in the abandoned building, which did not have fire alarms, sprinklers or sufficient exits. Several windows were boarded up and the building was overcrowded. The event was coordinated by Richard Hall, 47, of 1585 New York Ave., Huntington Station.

The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal was also notified.

Hall was charged with Criminal Nuisance 2nd Degree. He was held overnight at the Second Precinct and scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
