Woman killed in three-vehicle LI crash

FARMINGVILLE - Suffolk County Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a woman in Farmingville Sunday morning.

Joseph Pedro was driving a pickup truck, east on Horseblock Road when he was struck by a northbound car that was on Old Medford Avenue being driven by Franklyn Martinez at 6:38 a.m. Pedro lost control of his vehicle and hit a third car, driven by Jennifer Colon, who was westbound on Horseblock Road.

Colon, 40, of Medford, died at the scene. Pedro, 16, of Farmingville and Martinez, 23, of Central Islip, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking any witnesses to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
