Rocky Point man killed in crash

CENTRAL ISLIP - Suffolk County Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a passenger and injured the driver and another passenger early this morning.

Ulices Canessa Villatoro, 19, was southbound on Lowell Avenue when he apparently lost control of his car and struck several trees on the side of the road on Lowell Avenue in Central Islip at 12:02 a.m. A passenger, Andrew O’Connor, 18, of Rocky Point, who was sitting in the rear driver’s side of the vehicle, was transported to Southside Hospital via ambulance where he died.

Canessa Villatoro, of Islip Terrace, and George Shody, 17, of Islip Terrace, who was a rear seat passenger, were also transported to Southside Hospital. Villatoro, 19, was treated for a fractured arm and possible fractured hip. Shody, of Islip Terrace, was treated for back injuries. Joel Fernandez, 18, of Islip Terrace, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was uninjured.
