Man charged with hit-and-run death pedestrian 

HUNTINGTON STATION - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Huntington Station man for a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Huntington Station on August 4. Following an investigation by Vehicular Crime Unit detectives, Richard Wright was charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting involving a fatality. Wright, 27, of 8th Avenue, was scheduled for arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.

The name of the victim has not been released.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Vehicular Crime Unit at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
