Fort Drum soldier charged in scalding of infant

CARTHAGE - State Police in Carthage, arrested Nathanael Garrison, 22, of Watertown, for “reckless” assault 2nd degree, a felony and endangering the welfare of a child a misdemeanor. 

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 22, 2013, in the Town of Wilna, Jefferson County, NY.  Investigation revealed that during said incident, a 2 month old infant was subjected to scalding bath water.  The infant subsequently received 2nd Degree burns to approximately 45% of the body, and was later treated by the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Upstate University Hospital.  The infant was later released and has recovered from the injuries.

Garrison is in the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $10,000 cash / $20,000 secured bond.
