One man killed in crash with tour bus

ROCKY POINT  - Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed one man in Rocky Point last night.

The operator of an eastbound car on the Route 25A Bypass in Rocky Point crossed over into the westbound lane and collided with a tour bus that was westbound at approximately 7:40 Saturday evening. There were no passengers on the bus.

The driver of the car was dead at the scene. The name of the motorist will be released after positive identification is determined and next of kin is notified.

The operator of the tour bus was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.

The Suffolk County Police Motor Carrier Unit performed a safety check on the tour bus and results are pending. The Toyota Scion was impounded for a safety check.
