Texas man arrested after traveling to New York to meet underage girl for sex

MARCY – The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Marcy arrested Austin J. Plemons, 18, 112 Rath Drive, Georgetown, on Wednesday Texas after a one month investigation.

State Police began an investigation into the possible dissemination of pornography to an underage female located in the City of Rome.   Plemons, eventually traveled to Utica, N.Y. on today’s date with the intention of meeting this underage female and taking her back to Texas with him to engage in sexual activity. Plemons was taken into custody at the Utica, N.Y. train / bus station as he exited a Greyhound bus.  He was subsequently charged with Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor in the First Degree, a class “D” felony and was arraigned in the City of Rome Court.   He was committed to the Oneida County Jail on cash bail.

State Police were assisted in this investigation by Officer Jason Paul of the City of Rome PD, the Williamson County, T.X. Sheriffs Office, and the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office.
