Serial burglary suspect arrested in Suffolk County

DEER PARK - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Deer Park man for burglarizing multiple homes during the past two months.

Detectives were responding to investigate a burglary that had occurred earlier in the day at a home on Baldwin Path in Dix Hills when they canvassed the nearby area on April 28 at 4:45 p.m. Detectives located a suspect on Pine Acres Boulevard and Old Country Road in Deer Park. A further investigation determined that James Lovret, 30, of 4 Christopher Court, Deer Park, was responsible for two other burglaries on his block last month. He was charged with three counts of burglary 2nd degree.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this burglary or others in the area to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
