Four charged with attempted murder

MINEOLA – Nassau County police report the arrests of four Westbury men for attempted murder and assault that occurred on March 31, 2013 at 2:30 AM in New Cassel.

According to detectives, 911 received a call for a male bleeding on the street in front of La Casa Del Marisco restaurant, 815 Old Country Road, New Cassel.  Upon arrival police found three male victims, ages 35, 34 and 23, bleeding severely from the face, neck and hands. It appeared that the wounds may have been caused by a machete attack.  After an investigation at 4:20 AM, Miguel D. Flores, 22, of 726 Anna Avenue and Jose F. Hernandez, 25, of 368 Siegel Street, were arrested for the above crime.  Two additional subjects were not yet arrested. The victims were transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

On April 20, 2013 David A. Hernandez, 17, of 237 Wright Street and on April 21, 2013 Geovany Hernandez, 20, of 379 Cross Street, were placed under arrest.

Defendants Miguel Flores and Jose Hernandez were charged with gang assault 1st degree and 3 counts of assault 1st degree.  They were arraigned on April 1, 2013 at First District Court, Hempstead.   Defendants David and Geovany Hernandez are being charged with attempted murder and 2 counts of assault 1st degree. David has an additional charge of possession of a dangerous weapon 4th degree, while Geovany has 2 additional charges of criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree.  They were to be arraigned on April 21, at First District Court, Hempstead.
