New York man arrested for committing eight Rockland County burglaries

TOWN OF CLARKSTOWN – A Staten Island man has been arrested by Clarkstown Police in connection with a rash of residential burglaries in the town.

Late Thursday afternoon detectives spotted a suspicious man walking in the area of Grandview Avenue in Nanuet and while speaking to the man, later identified as Alejandro Cruz, 43, officers noticed he was wearing footwear consistent with footprints that were found at some of the burglary scenes.

He was brought to police headquarters for further interview and later charged with four burglaries in Nanuet.

Investigators from Orangetown and Ramapo police departments also responded to interview Cruz, who will also be charged with three burglaries in Ramapo and one in Orangetown.
