Suspect arrested in trooper assault

ALBANY - State Police announce the arrest of a suspect in who stabbed a state trooper on the Empire State Plaza Concourse on Sunday.   

At 12:25 PM Eric Green, 18, was located walking near the intersection of Western and Washington Avenues in Albany by members of the State Police. After being approached by the State Police members Green initially identified himself by another name but ultimately confirmed that he was Eric L. Green, at which point he was taken into custody without incident.
 
He was transported to the State Police Troop G Headquarters in Latham for processing.  Arraignment was scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Town of Colonie Court, on charges of Aggravated assault on a police officer in the first degree and robbery in the first degree, both felonies. Additional charges may be filed after the initial arraignment. 

The investigation is continuing and State Police Officials ask anyone who still has information as to where Green has been since the March 3rd assault to contact them at 518-474-5330.
