PLEASANT VALLEY – A Clinton Corners man was killed early Thursday afternoon when the pickup truck he was driving on North Avenue near Hurley Road in Pleasant Valley ran off the road and struck a tree. He was alone in the vehicle. The cause of the crash that claimed the life of James McDonnell, 65, remains under investigation by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Crash Management Unit. Police said McDonnell was northbound at 12:45 p.m. when he lost control, left the road and hit the tree. The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by members of the Pleasant Valley Fire Department and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office. |
