Teen accused of stealing dad’s credit card, running up big bill on gaming site

TOWN OF AUGUSTA – A teen faces felony charges after he stole his father’s Discover credit card and made several internet transactions and purchases.

 The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division charged Tanner Smith, 17, of Lawson Rd. Town of Augusta with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony. Investigators state that Smith broke into a locked room in the basement of his residence then stole a Discover credit card belonging to his father. Smith then used the card on an internet gaming site, and made purchases totaling over thirty seven hundred dollars.

Tanner Smith was arraigned in the Town of Augusta Court and released on Oneida County ROR.
