Film fest moves from NJ to Hudson Valley NY

MIDDLETOWN – The Hoboken International Film Festival and City of Middletown officials announced on Monday the festival will be held in the Orange County city this spring.

Details will be unveiled today Tuesday when US Senator Charles Schumer joins Mayor Joseph DeStefano and festival founder Kenneth Del Vecchio.

Now in its eighth year, the festival will be held from May 31 to June 6, hosted by Gilbert Gottfried. Attendance in recent years has reached 15,000 people and this year will include several Academy Award and Emmy winners and nominees, and other film and TV starts at the screenings, award ceremonies and special events.

A celebrity jury will rate the films. Ninety were chosen from over 1,500 submissions.

Del Vecchio is a movie producer in his own rite and shot scenes from latest two movies at the Paramount Theater in Middletown, where the festival will be held.
