WILLING - State Police in Amity responded to a residence on State Route 19 in the Town of Willing for a reported domestic dispute.  When Troopers arrived they found the male in the bedroom. 

While attempting to converse with the subject, Troopers observed what appeared to be a firearm in the subject's possession and took cover in another room in the residence.  At this time the troopers heard a gunshot, exited the residence and established a perimeter. 

The NYSP Crisis Negotiators, State Police SORT along with additional uniform and BCI members were contacted and responded to the scene.  Entry was gained to the residence and the subject, a 60 year old male was found deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
