State police car involved in crash

MARCY - State Police in Herkimer are investigating a two-car personal injury accident that occurred around 6:00 Thursday morning, at the intersection of State Street and North Washington Street in the Village of Herkimer, Herkimer County.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that a police car, a marked NYSP patrol vehicle, operated by Trooper Nathan Harder, 30, was eastbound on State Street in the Village of Herkimer enroute to a physical domestic incident.  A car, operated by a Jordanville, woman, was southbound on North Washington Street and entered the intersection of State Street with a green traffic light.  The marked patrol vehicle, with lights activated proceeded through a red light and struck the car in the intersection.

Harder and the driver of the car were both treated for minor injuries and released.
