Nassau County police investigating dog attacks

LAKEVIEW – Police are investigating claims by four individuals who say they were the victims of dog attacks that occurred Tuesday evening in Lakeview.

According to Officers, at 6:30 pm, while walking on Parkside Road and Cedar Road, a 16 year old male was attacked by two pit bulls, one being brown and the other black. The victim suffered injuries to his left arm.

At 6:40 pm, the same two pit bulls attacked a 54 year old female who was walking on Pinebrook Avenue and Parkside Road. As a result, she also suffered injuries to her left arm.

At 6:50 pm, the third victim, a 24 year old female, was also attacked by the same dogs while walking on Pinebrook Avenue and Tyler Road. She suffered injuries to her left leg and right arm.

At 7:01 pm, the last victim, a 29 year old female, while in front of 33 Clinton Avenue, was attacked by the pit bulls and suffered injuries to her face, left arm, right arm and left shoulder.

All the victims were transported to an area hospital to seek treatment for their injuries.

An intensive area search for the dogs was coordinated and conducted utilizing Bureau of Special Operations Officers, Emergency Services Unit, Aviation Unit, Fourth Precinct Patrol Officers and Town of Hempstead Animal Control Officers. They were unable to locate the dogs at this time.
