Man faces possible life sentence for sexually assaulting woman with children present |

ALBANY - An Albany man was found guilty after a jury trial of two counts of predatory sexual assault and one count of kidnapping in the first degree, all felonies, and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, in Albany County Court. On May 2, 2012 in a residence on Elk Street in Albany, Yaqoob Chauhan, 47, restrained a woman who is known to him for a period of more than 12 hours and subject her to physical injury and sexual abuse. These actions were committed in the presence of five children under 11 years of age. Chauhan faces a maximum of a life in State Prison when sentenced on March 27, 2013. |
