Koch funeral to be on Monday

NEW YORK – A funeral for one of the Big Apples iconic mayors is set for Monday.  Ed Koch died early Friday at age 88.

The funeral will be Monday morning at Temple Emanu-El, on Manhattan’s upper east side.  He will be laid to rest in Trinity Church Cemetery, where he purchased a plot five years ago, saying he did “… not want to leave Manhattan”.

Koch served three terms as mayor, beginning in 1978.  A bid for a fourth term was thwarted in a Democratic primary, by David Dinkins who went on to win the general election.
