WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man pled guilty on Wednesday in Westchester County Court to felony vehicular manslaughter in connection with a fatal vehicle accident that left a 16-year-old girl dead.

Waverly Patrick, also known as Patrick Waverly, 53, also pled guilty to leaving the scene of an incident without reporting it as a felony and a misdemeanor of aggravated driving while intoxicated.

On June 22, 2012 Waverly was driving on Valentine Lane in Yonkers at about 9:30 p.m. when his SUV struck Keyairra Price, who was waiting to cross the street with a 15-year-old friend on their way to a store.

The impact threw Price about 60 feet onto the sidewalk.  She later died at an area hospital.

Witnesses saw Waverly’s vehicle continue without stopping. Yonkers police located the vehicle several hours later in a parking lot outside his apartment building.  A court order was obtained and his blood alcohol level was over .18, twice the legal limit of .08.

When sentenced in March, Waverly faces up to 15 years in state prison.
