Teen charged with posting online threat to blow up school

HAUPPAUGE - Suffolk County Police arrested an Islip teenager after he allegedly posted an online threat to blow up the Kings Park High School gymnasium.

Detectives investigated a complaint from Kings Park High School officials that an individual had made a post on the online messaging service Twitter that indicated he had obtained a bomb to blow up the “Kingdome,” a reference to the Kings Park High School gymnasium. School officials had previously been aware of students posting comments on Twitter regarding the rivalry between Kings Park High School and Islip High School.

Taggert, 16, of 88 Herbert St., was charged with falsely reporting an incident 2nd degree and is to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
