Four-year-old boy found dead in Long Island apartment |

AMITYVILLE - Suffolk County Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a four-year-old boy who was found dead in an Amityville apartment Wednesday afternoon. The Village of Amityville Police Department received a 911 call at 3:49 p.m. in which the caller indicated that an ambulance was required for a small boy at an apartment at 89 Ketcham Ave. When police arrived, they discovered a young boy lying unconscious on a couch in the living room. No adults were present in the apartment. The boy was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m. The child was then taken to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed on Friday morning.
