Would-be bank robber flees penniless |

ROSLYN HEIGHTS – Nassau County police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 4:35 PM in Roslyn Heights. According to detectives, a male black subject approximately 20 years of age, 5’7”, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light blue pants and construction boots, entered the TD Bank at 111 Mineola Avenue and presented a robbery demand note to a teller. After several seconds the subject took back the note and fled the scene on foot northbound Mineola Avenue. There were no proceeds or injuries reported. Five employees and one customer were inside the bank at the time of the robbery. Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
