Man killed in two-vehicle crash

ST. JAMES - Suffolk County are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a Hauppauge man in St. James early Wednesday morning.

Jaime Rodriguez was eastbound on Route 25 at Huber Place when his SUV crossed into the westbound lanes and collided into a garbage truck owned by Progressive Waste Systems of Long Island Inc., at approximately 2 a.m. The driver of the garbage truck, Joseph Mundy, 50, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Rodriguez, 25, of Hauppauge, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8444.
