POUGHKEEPSIE – City police in Poughkeepsie released the identity of the youth who was shot and killed early Sunday morning as Daquell LeBlanc, 17, of Poughkeepsie. At 12:48 a.m., police were called to the Gyro King at 364 Main Street, for a report of a man being shot. Shortly thereafter, LeBlanc was brought to Vassar Brothers Medical Center by cab where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy conducted by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s office determined he died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Police said the shooting was not a random act. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call Poughkeepsie City Police at 845-451-7577.
