Long Island bank robbed |

WEST BABYLON - Suffolk County Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Monday afternoon at a Bank of America in West Babylon. A man entered the bank, located at 560 Montauk Highway, at approximately 1:30 p.m. and handed a teller a note which stated that he had a gun and demanded cash. The teller complied with the demand and the suspect fled the bank on foot. The robber is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, and between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing a black knit cap, dark sunglasses, a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans, and light-colored surgical gloves. The investigating is continuing. Anyone with information on the bank robbery is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. |
